The Credential

What Is the ABAT Credential and Who Issues It?

The ABAT — Applied Behavior Analysis Technician — is an entry-level behaviour analysis credential awarded by the QABA Board (Qualified Applied Behaviour Analysis Credentialing Board). It is designed for paraprofessionals and support staff who provide direct ABA services under the supervision of a qualified behaviour analyst.

To earn the ABAT credential, candidates must complete three requirements: a 40-hour training course (this course fulfills this requirement), 15 hours of supervised fieldwork, and a competency assessment. All three components must be completed and submitted to QABA through their official application process.
