Therapy Services Bangalore — One Integrated Clinical Framework

Every therapy service at Avishi Center in Bangalore operates within a single clinical framework. This means the ABA team, speech therapy team, and Foundation Skills Program educators share a clinical plan for every child, coordinate weekly, and review progress together. Goals set in one session are reinforced across all others. The result is faster, more durable progress than siloed, single-discipline therapy.

The five programmes below cover the full continuum from early assessment and individual therapy through to group school readiness and after-school enrichment. Most children at Avishi receive a combination of services rather than a single programme.

The evidence base for integrated ABA and communication therapy is well established. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association outlines best practice for coordinated autism intervention at asha.org.

ABA and Behavioral Therapy

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the most extensively researched, evidence-based approach for autism and developmental delays. At Avishi, ABA principles form the foundation of all behavioral therapy — structured, data-driven, and supervised by a BCBA and QBA-certified clinician.

Every ABA programme begins with a 22-domain clinical assessment. Sessions target specific, measurable goals and progress is tracked at every session. Family training is built into every programme so gains transfer to the home.

Speech and Language Therapy

Avishi’s speech and language therapy addresses the full communication profile — from pre-verbal foundational skills through to articulation, comprehension, and social language. Sessions are delivered by RCI-registered, MSc-qualified speech therapists.

The speech therapy team works in close coordination with the ABA team so communication goals are reinforced across every session your child attends, not limited to a single weekly slot. This integrated approach produces faster, more durable communication outcomes.

Comprehensive Child Assessments

Every child who joins Avishi begins with a comprehensive 22-domain clinical assessment before any therapy plan is set. This is not a brief intake form — it is a structured evaluation covering communication, cognition, behaviour, daily living, motor skills, social development, and more.

The assessment report becomes the foundation of your child’s therapy plan and gives you a clear, honest picture of where they are today and what progress will look like. Standalone assessments are also available for families seeking a second opinion or a school placement report.

Foundation Skills Program (FSP)

The Foundation Skills Program is a structured morning school readiness programme for children aged 3 to 7 who are not yet ready for mainstream school. It runs Monday to Friday and blends special education, ABA-informed teaching, and activity-based group learning within a consistent daily timetable.

The FSP is the bridge from therapy to the classroom. Two designated therapy pull-out windows are built into the timetable so children receiving ABA or speech therapy can continue individual sessions without missing any full-group protected blocks.

After School Program (ASP)

The After School Program provides structured afternoon enrichment for school-going autistic kids and children with developmental delays. Groups of 3 children attend Monday to Friday from 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM for homework support, social skills practice, and creative arts activities.

The ASP is a pure enrichment programme — no therapy pull-outs. It is designed for children who are already in mainstream school and benefit from a purposeful, supervised peer environment after school hours with consistent staff and a predictable routine.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy Services in Bangalore

Avishi Center in Bangalore offers five programmes: ABA and behavioral therapy, speech and language therapy, comprehensive child assessments, the Foundation Skills Program (morning school readiness for children aged 3 to 7), and the After School Program (afternoon enrichment for school-going autistic kids, Monday to Friday 3:45 to 4:30 PM). All therapy programmes are supervised by a BCBA and QBA-certified clinician.

Yes — and for most children this combination produces significantly better outcomes than either approach alone. At Avishi, the ABA and speech therapy teams share a clinical plan so communication goals are reinforced across every session. Children in the Foundation Skills Program receive both services within the same morning timetable through designated pull-out windows.

No. A formal diagnosis is not required to book a consultation or assessment at Avishi Center. The 22-domain clinical assessment is designed to map your child’s developmental profile regardless of diagnosis status. Many families come to Avishi while awaiting a formal diagnosis and begin therapy during that period.

The assessment covers 22 clinical domains including communication and language, social skills, daily living, cognition, motor skills, behaviour, play, and sensory processing. It is conducted over 2 to 3 sessions using a two-stream parallel format — the lead clinician assesses the child while a second team member conducts a structured caregiver interview. The results produce a detailed written report with therapy placement recommendations.

The Foundation Skills Program (FSP) is a morning school readiness programme for children aged 3 to 7 who are not yet in mainstream school. It runs Monday to Friday mornings and includes therapy pull-out windows for children receiving ABA or speech therapy at Avishi. The After School Program (ASP) is an afternoon enrichment programme for children who are already in mainstream school, running Monday to Friday from 3:45 to 4:30 PM in groups of 3. The FSP is the step before mainstream school; the ASP supports children after they have transitioned.

Most families notice meaningful progress within 3 to 6 months of consistent therapy. The timeline depends on your child’s starting profile as identified in the assessment, session frequency and intensity, and how consistently therapy strategies are applied at home. Parent training is built into every Avishi programme to maximise the transfer of skills to the home environment.

Yes. All therapy programmes at Avishi are supervised by Akhila S Rao, who holds dual BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst) and QBA (QABA) certifications alongside an MSc in Psychology. The ABA team includes QBA trainees and ABAT-certified therapists. The speech therapy team includes Deeksha, who holds an MSc in Speech Language Pathology and is RCI-registered (Rehabilitation Council of India) — the mandatory national registration for speech-language pathologists in India.
